Sandstorm, learn how to make an animated sandstorm

heres how to make an animated sandstorm:

1. open the pic you want

2. make a new image, four times larger than your pic.

3. go to edit>fill>black to make the new pic black.

4. go to filter>noise>add noise and enter these settings:


Amount: 22.3%
Distribution: Gaussion
Monochromatic: Checked

5. set its blending mode to screen and turn the opacity down to 35-45% and move the layer onto your pic.

6. switch to imageready by pressing ctrl + shift + m.

7. make a new frame by pressing the button in the animation window.

8. unhide the sand layer and move it pretty far away from the orginal position and press the tween button.

9. set it to about 8 frames or so and press ok.

10. play around with the timing of each frame to get it to be as fast as you want the sand to move.

its because i set the opacity way too low on mine, but i refined the tutorial so its more apparent. also, if u can make a better tutorial for a sandstorm, go ahead. and yes, i used thewebmachine.coms tut on how to make a wall and but i tweaked some of the settings for the text.

and thnx for the support draco, im pretty new to the whole writing tutorials thing, so i tried but i know theyre definitely not perfect

also, i might update to cs, i didnt know it compressed better- thnx! i just didnt like its layout.
